IT Business Analyst

£40,000 - £50,000 per annum
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between clients, project stakeholders, sales, and development teams by gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements. You will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of projects aligned with client expectations.
You will attend project discovery meetings and participate in client communication throughout project delivery.
The role will be remote working but with an occasional requirement to attend our new and vibrant Bournemouth office. We enable our friendly and supportive team to work in a flexible and remote environment using the latest technology, whilst ensuring that communication channels are always available.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the sales teams by providing critical information to help secure projects for the company. You will apply robust business analysis methodologies to ensure a well-documented, rigorous process that meets client and business expectations. Effective communication, both internally with staff and externally with clients and suppliers is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to elicit and document business requirements and associated budgets.
- Capture and document functional requirements to support both the sales cycle and subsequent delivery processes.
- Analyse and translate client needs into detailed functional specifications, including elements of system design such as wireframes, business rules, and data migration rules.
- Organise workshops and meetings to understand business objectives, challenges and opportunities.
- Facilitate discussions to gather insights and ensure clarity of requirements.
- Work closely with the project manager to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Conduct impact analysis for proposed changes to ensure feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
- Assist in creating user stories, process flows, and wireframes to support development and design teams.
- Liaise with software developers and QA teams to ensure alignment with business goals and maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Support the creation of test cases and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed.
- Help shape current and future business processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business analysis to bring added value to the role.
You must have:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the software development sector.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- An analytical and problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Experience creating user stories, wireframes, and process diagrams.
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
An advantage:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, or Agile BA)
Communication:
- You will be required to attend occasional client meetings
- You will be required to talk to clients on the phone/video conferencing
- You will require excellent conversational and writing skills in English
